Historical Significance
Shey Festival is essential festival that held from 1st September to 6th September 2024. On the lap of second Mount Kailash(Gang Tse)- The Shey Rebo Durkda in the Upper Dolpo Nepal. It is also one of the greatest festival that comes once in every year on th 15th of 7th month of Tibetan Luner Calender.
Cultural confluence of Upper Dolpo Culture during Shey Festival
But besides this, the Dragon Year of Shey Festival comes once in every 12 years because the pilgrimage site was discovered in Dragon Year by great master of Draikungpa Drupthop Singghe Yeshe. During the festival time, the followers circumambulate the crystal mountain and pray for a good being and happy life in serenity. The students of Shree Mukporong Himal Basic School took part in various cultural activities dance, drill and match pass.

Pilgrimage (Kora)
Bhuddist Pilgrims from various himlayan region peform sacred circumambulation(kora) around key place of worship. It is considered very opportune time to perform kora during 12 year shey festival month.
